SharedJourney Fertility Program
& Mercier Therapy
What is the SharedJourney Fertility Program?
The Shared Journey Fertility Program provides a safe, gentle, and natural healing massage for women facing fertility challenges, experiencing pelvic pain, recovering from gynecologic surgery, and having undergone traumatic birthing experiences. The Shared Journey Fertility Program uses the massage techniques developed by Dr. Jennifer Mercier.
Our fertility program is 6 weeks in length and can be used as a stand alone regime or in preparation for a more medically assisted cycle such as IUI or IVF. We highly recommend that you prepare your body properly prior to starting any medically assisted fertility cycle to help insure a successful first cycle. The Shared Journey can be completed in time for your stim start.
As a stand alone cycle without medical assistance is what is most natural and primal for your body. You will be guided to monitor your own ovulatory cycle along with our help for up to one year after finishing your therapy with us.
The program is custom tailored to each individual woman's situation and will be discussed in further detail at a consultation.
When scheduling your consult please make sure to allow 60-90 minutes and bring any past medical records that may be helpful when discussing your history. During the consult a full medical history will be obtained as well as a pelvic organ mobility evaluation will be done.
Mercier Therapy is a deep pelvic organ visceral manipulation modality. When increasing mobility whether your shoulder joint or your uterus you're optimizing the true function of the area and helping to return blood flow which is therapeutic.
When choosing to start the SJFP you'll receive 6 full hours of MT broken down into 1 hour intervals per week for 6 weeks.
What Conditions is Mercier Therapy used for?
Mercier Therapy is a deep, pelvic organ visceral manipulation technique in which the reproductive organs are mobilized and blood flow is restored; organ restrictions are relieved and movement is replenished throughout organs and surrounding structures to enhance their natural and optimal function. The goal of Mercier Therapy pelvic work is to decrease adhesions in and around organs, ligaments, muscles, joints and support structures of the pelvis, abdomen, hips and low back.
Mercier Therapy is also used for pelvic pain and disorders. Pelvic visceral manipulation is helpful for women who endure painful or irregular periods, have adhesions in their reproductive tract, suffer from dyspareunia (painful intercourse), incontinence, GI issues and reproductive disorders such as lack of menses/ovulation and sexual trauma. Women transitioning into menopause benefit as well.
Chronic pelvic pain can be debilitating and difficult to handle on a daily basis. Lack of a regular menstrual cycle and ovulation can be frustrating and confusing. Sexual trauma can disconnect one from their feminine divine and/or leave negative feelings around that sacred space. Jocelyn assists using a number of determined appropriate manual therapies that may include the Mercier Therapy techniques and therapeutic massage to gently restore one's connection to their pelvis and cultivate positive empowerment both physically and emotionally.
Organ position, mobility, scar tissue and adhesions affect the function of the uterus and ovaries as well as the bladder and colon. Adhesions act like glue — disrupting the function of affected organs. Visceral Manipulation involves gentle stretching to loosen tightened areas of soft tissue and is continued until the tension is released. The goal is to decrease adhesions in and around the organs, ligaments, muscles, joints and support structures of the pelvis, abdomen, hips and lower back. Optimizing blood flow, movement and circulation to the uterus and ovaries benefits the performance and health to the whole pelvis. This visceral manipulation technique is done externally through the abdomen and requires NO internal or vaginal work.
